WiFi Signal Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 23, 2026
Intuitibits LLC (“Intuitibits,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how WiFi Signal and WiFi Signal Pro for macOS (collectively, the “Apps”) process information.
This policy applies only to the Apps. Use of intuitibits.com is covered by the separate Intuitibits website privacy policy.
Information processed on your Mac
The Apps use macOS system frameworks to obtain information about your current Wi-Fi connection. This information may include:
- Network name (SSID)
- Access point identifier (BSSID)
- Signal and noise measurements
- Channel, frequency band, and channel width
- Transmit rate and other radio characteristics
- Network security information
- Local IP addresses, gateways, and DNS servers
- Access point vendor information
This information is processed locally on your Mac. It is not transmitted to Intuitibits.
Location Services
macOS requires Location Services authorization before an app can access certain Wi-Fi information, including the connected network’s SSID and BSSID.
The Apps use this authorization only to access Wi-Fi connection information. They do not request, determine, collect, or store your geographic location.
History and access point labels
WiFi Signal Pro stores connection history locally on your Mac for up to 14 days. History may include Wi-Fi connection details, signal measurements, connection events, Internet availability events, and periods during which monitoring was unavailable.
You can clear this history from within WiFi Signal Pro. History leaves your Mac only when you explicitly export and share it.
Access point labels are also stored locally. They may be shared through an Intuitibits app-group container with compatible Intuitibits applications installed on the same Mac. Labels are not transmitted to Intuitibits.
Internet connectivity checks
WiFi Signal Pro periodically makes a small HTTPS request to an Apple connectivity-check endpoint to determine whether the Internet is reachable. If that request fails, the app may contact Cloudflare endpoints to help distinguish among an Internet outage, a DNS problem, and limited connectivity.
These requests do not contain your Wi-Fi network name, BSSID, connection history, access point labels, or other Wi-Fi measurements. The remote service necessarily receives your public IP address while servicing the request. Intuitibits does not receive or retain that IP address.
A Cloudflare diagnostic response may contain the public IP address used for the connection. WiFi Signal Pro uses the response only to confirm connectivity and does not save or retain the address.
Apple and Cloudflare process requests according to their respective privacy policies.
Vendor database updates
WiFi Signal Pro may contact the Intuitibits content delivery network to check for and download updates to its access point vendor database.
Update requests do not contain Wi-Fi connection information, history, labels, or persistent device identifiers. The server necessarily receives your public IP address while servicing the request, but Intuitibits does not retain the address.
Notifications
Connection and signal notifications are generated locally using macOS notification services. Intuitibits does not operate a push-notification service for the Apps and does not receive the contents of these notifications.
Data collection and tracking
The Apps:
- Do not include advertising or third-party analytics SDKs
- Do not directly send usage analytics or crash reports to Intuitibits
- Do not require an Intuitibits account
- Do not sell personal information
- Do not use information for advertising
- Do not track you across apps or websites
Support communications
If you contact Intuitibits for support, you may voluntarily provide information such as your name, email address, diagnostic details, or exported files. Intuitibits uses this information only to respond to your request, provide support, perform its obligations to you, maintain necessary support records, and improve its products and support services.
Support information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for these purposes or as required by law. You may request deletion of information supplied through a support interaction by contacting Intuitibits.
Service providers
Intuitibits may use service providers to operate its content delivery, email, and customer-support infrastructure. These providers process information only as needed to provide their services to Intuitibits and are subject to applicable contractual and legal obligations.
The Apps may also communicate directly with Apple and Cloudflare for the limited connectivity-checking purposes described above. Their handling of those requests is governed by their respective privacy policies.
International processing
Information that you voluntarily provide to Intuitibits for support may be processed in the United States or in other countries where Intuitibits or its service providers operate. Where required, Intuitibits uses appropriate safeguards for international transfers of personal data.
Information for users in the European Economic Area
For purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), Intuitibits LLC is the data controller for personal data processed as described in this policy.
Locally stored information
Wi-Fi connection information, history, settings, and access point labels remain on your Mac and are not accessible to Intuitibits. Because Intuitibits does not receive or control this locally stored information, requests to access, correct, export, or delete it must be completed using the Apps or macOS.
Operational requests
IP addresses are processed transiently when delivering vendor database updates and other operational requests. This processing is necessary to deliver and secure those services and is based on Intuitibits’ legitimate interests in operating reliable and secure software. Intuitibits does not retain these IP addresses.
Support requests
When you contact Intuitibits for support, we process the contact information, message, and any files you voluntarily provide. We process this information as necessary to respond to your request, provide support, perform our obligations to you, and pursue our legitimate interests in maintaining and improving our products and support services.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:
- Request access to your personal data
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data
- Request deletion of your personal data
- Request restriction of processing
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Receive certain personal data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent
You may exercise these rights by contacting su*****@*********ts.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in the country where you live or work.
Security
Intuitibits uses reasonable administrative and technical measures designed to protect information processed on its behalf. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
Legal disclosures
Intuitibits may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law or a valid legal request; protect the rights, property, or safety of Intuitibits, its users, or others; investigate fraud or misuse; or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Children’s privacy
The Apps are not directed specifically to children and do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
Intuitibits may update this Privacy Policy when the Apps or their privacy practices change. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
